Julie Gerstenblatt

Julie is a novelist, humor columnist and writing coach. She holds an Ed D in Curriculum and Teaching from Teachers College, Columbia University.  For 15 years, she taught 6th to 12th grade English as well as graduate students in the suburbs surrounding New York City.  Julie grew up performing in plays and musicals and now resists the urge to embarrass her children by staying backstage as much as possible and funneling her enthusiasm for the theater into her role on the Executive Committee of the Arts Alive! Board. She is a Broadway fanatic, heading to Manhattan whenever possible to see a new show.  Originally from Scarsdale, New York, Julie moved to Barrington, Rhode Island with her husband, Brett, and their two children in 2014.
